Magical Moon

Oh, moon
so magical in the sky
for all the powers that you hold
your many mysteries do imply.

Why is it
that a seed planted on a certain day
will yield a healthy plant
so beautiful its display.

Your fullness has the power
to keep me up all night
and find me yet sleepless
till early morning light.

For some
your fullness does capture their soul
lovers find each other
the thief or murderer do find their goal.

Putting a fence post in the ground
sufficient dirt is always around
other times, when in darkness bound
there is not enough earth to be found.

You control the tides
from day to day
waters flowing in and out
such powers you have in a magical way.

As you move through all your phases
and your light no more upon my face
I know that you shall be found
in some far and distant place.
