Iambe stretched out Lying under the front end Of Jim’s old International Trying to loosen the bolts Holding the steering gear to the frame. It had been months since I had seen her Thousands of miles and hundreds of days Since I had loaded the old truck and left She stopped and crawled out As the old pickup coughed on last gasp And crunched gravel under tires in a stop Her eyes had no Idea what I saw And what I had seen Still, they peered at me Looking for a reason for my return I just nodded Walked over to the shade And found a place to sit My back to rough bark And she Smiled |

I miss Iambe. I miss the stories. 'bout time some of the newbies read Iambe's story. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
