Pumpkin Patches By: Noah Eaton 9/22/01 As the leaves bleach in chartreuse I sprout my proud arms up from beneath the ground Greeting fellow threshers leftover nectar Held secret from the spring and the summer tryouts My seeds bare harvest to all I am the mother of Autumnal merit My seeds will spread and my children will aflame the prairie We are the special recipe that makes a fine homemade banquet I have millions of sons and daughters Of all different kinds of sizes I seduce feelow farmers and children everywhere And sweet little hares love to visit by suprise From a long slumber I awaken, to model my apparel Children love to play with me and I host trick-or-treating Me and my family thank you this autumn, for being our close friend Pay me a visit anytime, you know where you can find me |

They grow pumpkins out at my wifes homestead ... fields of them People come out with their children to pick a host for their jackolanterns and most ride the horse drawn wagons back and forth and make a scarecrow while they're there ![]() Your poem sparks these memories ... Can't wait! |
