Our garden has been tread upon Uprooting lovely flowers An act of terror took away The blooms that once were ours Each one of us was violated When the petals fell And in our hearts an empty space Where stranger’s love had dwelled The morning dew on fallen petals, Sweat upon my brow Unseen, unknown and unaware Yet part of me somehow I feel as though my essence Has been partly left behind I’ve been robbed of fellow man who Share a spirit linked to mine We all have been surrounded By a high and sheltered wall How could we let them through the gate An cause the blooms to fall This wound, this piece of ground unearthed We’ll fill with flowers again We’ll plant the seeds of love Whose grace and beauty never end If any good was generated From this horrific deed It’s that among ourselves We recognize a common seed May we all join hands and hearts And live in harmony at home In the garden we created Under God’s blue crystal dome Elizabeth Santos |

May we all join hands and hearts And live in harmony at home In the garden we created Under God’s blue crystal dome Nothing sums it up better than that...God Bless America~ |

I loved the hopefulness in this one Liz, and yes if anything it has brought everyone together in a new strength (also in Canada). Wonderfully done. ~* If you want a rainbow, sometimes you just have to put up with a little rain *~ |

Beautifully expressed Liz, in a rhythm and rhyme that flows as sweetly as your sentiments. Indeed ... let's plant these seeds again. Much enjoyed my friend. ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |
