Sleek, bobbed hair Black waved and pin curled to accent the color Of porcelain skin A band of silk With a tiny white feather Circling as a measure of halo The smallest pout of red dotted with a single mark Of beauty Just above the right full of lip Clear eyes masked With smokey coal Lashed With blackest black Thin brows arched Slightly Giving a hint Of charming interest Standing statuesqe Bearing sunless embodiment In drapes of beads Stringing the length of form Poured over a cat like mold Jetting head to toe With a panther chained In gold Heeled at buckled feet A long cigarette holder Smolders your favorite brand There is no smile There is only the stoic pose Rosewatered to perfection There is no doubt You are a woman Superimposed of everything in the 1920’s |

Thank you all so much for your comments on this one!!! I had this image in my head from a gorgeous statue I received. She is truly beautiful and I can't imagine what it must have been like to have been her...except for this statue. So glad I caught her so clearly! Hugs to all! Sincerely, Regina It's all in the mind |

for a moment, I thought that you might be speaking of yourself. . . back then. . . a portrait worthy to hang. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
