I watched a young couple, early twenties, stepping lively across the way.
Talking, smiling, exuberant, not a single care seemingly spoiling their day.

They kept step to a silent tune, a generation gap my ear did not get.
Walking lightly, skipping slightly, two lovers you can certainly bet

I think about the days ago when we were like  they and then
I think about the ways ago when we were lively, sleek  and thin.

I dream of the moments when we thought rabbits could not compare.
I remember the second when she came blushing after killing the doctor’s hare.

I don’t have a memory of the night when my first child was born
Sadly,   I was not there to be seen, my heart and feelings truly torn.

I will tell you all this feeling from the bottom of my war torn heart.
I can reassure my children now that I have dearly  loved them from the start.

Tim, Ash......I love you.....
Lou......thank you for killing the hare.....

Magnus,
The rabbit died for a worthy cause to be sure! Cute write.
