The Shores of Alone

You never promised roses
though they would have been so nice
you offered me just pieces
of yourself, not once but twice.

You never promised true love
but I dreamt it all the same
you offered shattered feelings
because love was just your game.

You never promised meaning
but you led me to believe
you offered-then you stole it
and I'm left alone to grieve.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sandra, this is so so sad but I know deep down in my heart and the heart of God that He has the man of your dreams prepared to embrace you and shower you with sweet love forever! (sigh) He always keeps His promises, and love will neevr fail you, for you deserve the most beautiful love you could ever dream of! (kiss on cheek) We all love you, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

We can't make things be the way we want them to be just because we want them to be that way. Wouldn't it be nice if we could?

*sigh* if only love were not blind and there were only honest men and women wanting to give honest, real love. Now that is the kind of world I would be happy in. My heart goes out to you that you still endure the pain of empty promises. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

words said in the heat of passion, are sometimes just that...

It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

Sandra,

Sad theme, but lovely poem.

You can write of the saddest things, yet your words still have a beautiful lilt of a song to them. It is indeed heartbreaking to realize that someone will not give back the feelings that we so deeply feel for them. (I think that's when we have to go to New Orleans and drink the feeling away!!!)

Oh ouch!  Wow, Sandra.  Powerful and heartbreaking.  It's just plain mean when someone plays with your feelings for kicks.  Well done.

What a scoundrel! Not just once, but twice!
Not all men are nice. But not all of them are like that guy either! Better luck next time. You might like the next one I post

Sounds like a man that likes to play games with a woman's feelings.  If that's true, the words I have to say couldn't be posted in this forum.  Take care, my friend.  *hugs* to you.

Short, sweet, and to the point.

Do not settle for just pieces,
you are so much better than that.
And you are not alone,
so grieve as you wish ...
forget all that!!        *s*

The secret is to be able to figure out if they are what you want before getting too emotionally attached...sometimes hard to do if both are not being honest and forthcoming...James

catalinamoon, sometimes we get so caught up in the whirlpool of passion, we can drown in unspoken promises. Very well said, as usual, Chris

Promises....

The pain is all too clear here and the disappointment. I really hope that you'd leave it all behind soon.

Take care sweet lady...
