The Shores of Alone

I think I'll make myself a knight,
he will exist for me,
made of love and metal scraps
and all my fantasies.

Turn chains of mail to chains of love,
create a perfect mate,
no longer will I live alone,
my answer to this fate.

He'll want to hold me closely
with gifts of love endow,
he'll save me from the dragons,
to this he will avow.

I'll never have to ask him
if his love for me is real.
Of course it is, I made him,
He's my knight of love and steel.

A valiant heart he'll harbor
I placed it there as well,
My doubts I now surrender
In happiness I dwell.

Dear Catalinamoon, this is a very nice write indeed, if it was only so easy we would all have the love that we miss. Even without our knowing we change, a love of once becomes a love of then, we may see in someone through imagination to be our soul mate who will be there forever, but how long is forever? it seems there are many forevers in a lifetime. The knight that you build from scraps of steel may rust as the foundations of some relationships. It seems you have enough love to share around, be a little more patient and your knight will arrive built of flesh and bone, loving you for you.

Hi, just a few notes to everyone. Cerenity, I have been doing a few castle poems, etc, and receiving some in return..NancyLee.I think some of those resumes were OVER qualified (lol to Balladeer)
Sven, I have no choice but to build one, as the real one already turned to rust.
Craig..yes, I am in Oz and Camelot, equal time..good call.
James, when you figure you the clone thing, please let me know. Then they could stay and go at once.
Rick, that was such a thoughtful note, it is so strange how a love of now can become a love of then in such a sudden way. Then sometimes it taks years of sadness. I think we could speak on this for hours.
Lets hear from the men, with the princess of their dreams..

I had to come back and tell you how MUCH I love this poem. I knew someone once, his last name was Knight. And he was a wonderful person, a fine man, all these qualities, unselfish...caring.

Yes, sometimes the name and the person are already there. Anyway, I just love this one...it reminded me of my friend.
