Doorway Through Life

A shaded doorway looms ahead
as she stand in darkness, hesitant:
a shaft of light pierces the night;
a door suddenly opens wide
as a sunrise over a misty shore
of seas untouched by man.

She is beckoned forth
as guides walk her lovingly
across this uncertain space
between the light and the darkness;
between what was
and what can yet be...

As she walks across the doorway
she realizes the light
emanates from her own being:
full with wisdom, she enters
the reality she now calls home.
