With This Ring
AMK
11/5/01

With this ring they pledged to one another
Starting out a marriage based on pure love
They honestly thought theirs was
Based on a love from high above

The bills started coming in
He started drinking every night
She would awaken
To him sneaking in the house in early morning light

Two kids and a house morgage later
The stress took it's toll and started the downfall
She screamed to him so many times for help
He just seemed to not hear her call

With this ring, they said they'd always love
That was before his love of the bottle became more
She's had it now though
No longer taking it, she's walking out the door

Children in tow, they are leaving this misery behind
There's got to be something better out there
She'll find it for them and herself
Even if it requires searching everywhere

With this ring, no longer matters
She leaves it on the bathroom sink
As he sits across town in the bar
Oblivious to what lies ahead, he takes another drink

"I could kiss you in
the rain forever.
Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Amy, this is so so sad and so very true indeed! (big hugggsssss) My heart cries out to you, for love should always be clean and filled with faithfulness and love to one another! (sigh) My heart goes out to you, sweet Amy! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Very well written, Amy. The ring of fire is all he will be left holding onto, for he traded in the ring of love.
