Cactus Baptism

ah.......the dance
steps I know by chance
knowledge known without practice
is a full and empty prickly cactus
but if we can get past the needles cursed
water will quench our desert thirst
no more of washing of footprints in the sand
don’t know everything but this I do understand
I can write upon the pages in permanent ink
a completely satisfying cactus drink
thirst has given me excellent prep
my baptismal dance has begun it’s first step

"I have already paid for my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Helen, I love cactus juice; may we drink the holy water within and quench thirst for the good Lord above! (smiles) Sooooo creative and wonderful, sweet friend! (kiss on cheek) I love it! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Good to have you back, Helen....and yes, I love the dualism of cactus and water, but cacti are succulents and I'll shaddup now, but loved your poem and great to see you back home again.

Love cactus and their flowers.  I don't see many poems about them.  I gues we are afraid to get that close the the thorns on purpose.  Good One....Dan

One can never rail against baptism
Come to Texas if you want it done for real

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Ahh, Helen, so good to see you, and the part "no more of washing of footprints in the sand" binds all together...very gentle smile
