My thoughts seem to go into overdrive
When I lay in bed and it rains outside
Makes me long for someone to cuddle
Tempted to barefootedly play in the puddles
My mother was always preching about germs
She said If I played in dirty water I'd get ringworm
I used to question as a little girl
As to why it would rain?
My theory was the clouds were crying
After something caused them pain

Somedays the streets would be flooded
And those clouds would turn gray
Thought it was the clouds expressing their gloom
When the sun went away

I think about my flower garden outside
And how they love slight rain showers
My roses are thristy for hydration
But too much rain will drown my flowers

Rain makes people look appealing
Skin glistening slick and wet
I must say it looks much better
Than being hot and beaded with sweat

See my thoughts twist in my head so deep
I give in to the humming sound
and fall fast asleep

I love when it rains... the sound of the raindrops hitting my window puts me to sleep every time

(now storms... I HATE thunder..lol) Great write

RosePetal, I love the scent of rain and I love the sound of it hitting the roof when I am snuggled up to my hubby in bed. I really liked this poem. Chris

Rain does many wonderful things....and
setting the mood for love is one of them.
Your poem brings much to mind about a
very wet subject.
