My Travels: Cape Breton

I've sat upon the highest cliff
of The Cabot Trail
Laughed with joy while watching the clouds
from an approaching gale

As breathing deep of salty air,
the freshest ever known
I've listened to the eagle's cry
as overhead he's flown

I've played upon the golden sands,
built castles to the sky
I swam the cold Atlantic waves
and laughed with childish cry

This is the place I learned to dream
on lonely summer days
In a world of wind, sand and sea
playing in golden rays

WindWalker...Thank you so much. I am glad you liked it. My father grew up on Cape Breton Island. We went there most summers.

Sandra....This is the place where I learned to love storms and cliffs and the ocean. I learned to dream on lazy summer days.

Lady of Shallot....*sigh* though it has been almost 30 years since I have been there still the images I can see are as fresh as this wonderful picture you have found for me. Thank you so much. It is perfect. **hugs**

Magnus....I am glad you can see the romance in my words, my friend. Cape Breton holds many special memories for me from a childhood where there were few times I was at peace.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
