Heavenly Angel
AMK
October 28 2001

Well Mom, it's been a while since I've wrote a line for you
However, that doesn't mean I don't think of you in all I do
Sweet heavenly angel, you are with me each and everyday
I feel your strength, and the love in the things you can not say

You fill my heart with joy and love
I am forever feeling you from above
Seven years ago you left and went away
Though your body is gone, your spirit stays

There is no doubt in my mind, on many occassion my heart and soul you did save
Standing here on this blustery day in October, I look at your name penned on the grave
I bow my head in prayer, I open my heart in peace
Though you are not physically here with me, your grace and love seem to never cease

I feel the tears start to fall, as I pull my jacket a little closer around me
The seasons are now changing, but I know I don't have to tell you...for you see
I know that you're in heaven, with our Lord, in the great Kingdom on cloud high
I turn to walk away back to my car, and let out a sigh

I turn back around and I say the following words to you
Mom you are with me today forever always, in all I say and do
Though we're not together, you are always in my heart and soul
You are the part of me who gave me this huge heart, and together we are whole

I'll see you some other day, in heavenly sky of light
When the Angels too come for me, dressed in their pure and celestrial white
Till then take care, continue to do what you always do
Bringing love to those around you, just know that I LOVE YOU!

"I could kiss you in
the rain forever.
Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"

Amy, this is beautiful indeed. I feel these words all too closely, as you know, I too lost my Mom. Our Mom's are looking down at us and I'm quite sure they are very, very proud of what they see. And so they should be...they helped to mold us into who we are today. Beautiful indeed my friend.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Amy...I did the same basic thing recently
for my mother....I need to say more about her.

I lost her 30 years ago.  She gave me a lot
to be happy about.

Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Aimster - This is lovely. I miss my Mom too. She passed over in 1969...but sometimes it seems like only yesterday.....Chris

Very heartfelt write for your mom.
I only have my father. I don't know what it's like to have a mother figure in my life and it was hard on dad to act as both parents for me! It was kind of embarrassing when I was a pre teen and my father had to take me bra shopping, lol.

Amy, A lovely tribute from an adorning daughter to a very special Mom. In the beginning the time goes by so slowly and is so very difficult but suddenly we reach the point where we can gain strength from such a loss. It truely is hard to believe when someone so close is taken so unexpectantly that this can make us better women. I feel you've continued her journey and your walking in her steps to grace us all with your inspiring words, incredible laughter and loving soul. Thank you my friend.  Annette

*hugs* Amy....this was such a beautiful poem for your mom. Very well done too, your heart is so completely visible in this. I think it's one of your best.
