Through the centuries warrior man has waged
countless wars in the cause of love and life
Battles won, lost,  some so fearlessly staged
through ageless times of struggle and great strife.

Nameless  maidens waving tissues above
the muddy floor  covered by crimson red.
All involved in the quest of a true love.
As weary knights fight until one life  dead..

They carry a shield, for honor, for  heart.
Fighting till a soul gone, swaying sword  still.
Knowing each would not share love  at the start
Going onward in battle for the will.

As day wanes and turns into darkest night
and warriors, cut and torn go to their rest.
Rest assured each did  return to the fight
for a maiden’s love is  the world’s true quest..

Rest ye maidens in stone towers  above
for we stand faithfully guarding your bed
Knowing with honor we war for your love
as we most  humbly bow our knightly  heads.

*sigh* it is so incredibly wonderful to read the poems of a man who knows how to touch the inner hearts of all maidens everywhere. You wife is truly blessed to have a treasure like you in her life. Do you really think there are others out there like you who are Knights who would battle for the hand of maiden. *sigh* I hope so.....my fantasies are filled with just such a man.     Thank you, so much, for sharing this wonderful poem.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Karen,  you certainly deserve a Knight to
come sweep you up into his saddle,  carry
you to a safe place and......well, you
figure out the rest.  Thanx for the
wonderful expressions and the emoticons are
superb.

Thanx James,  I enjoy writing of this part of
our history.  I think I must have been there
once before in my life.

Magnus,

I liked this a lot. Somewhere out there I can only hope there are true knights waiting to find all their princesses.

swept away and loved and protected through
all time.  time everlasting as the tower is
kept safe from harm,  as she peacefully
rests.  thanx Dawn.
