Mountain Keep In memory of Michelle on her birthday The mountain where your ashes keep the buried photo in wallet sleeps the blanket torn and tattered touch the valentine that meant so much The word mother all slanted big the girl dress velvet with bare feet the tears of growing question marks a life so young and pulled apart The bath all poured and cooled now where you frolicked with the clowns the special touch that brought all sorts of animals to your loving court I listen to the sounds of morn answering crow to blow a horn of morning’s birth you such a sight so tiny to scream with so much might I miss you daughter of my heart not grown to woman from your start you poured your life upon the path but left a love that lasts and lasts This birthday thought I give to you for the little girl is all I knew I see you as this day is falling in the mountain your spirit calling and so I just know |
