the road is littered with broken bowls and buddhas flung in bits from cliffs ________________________ I don't usually annotate poems... In Tibet (while the Dalai Lama was still there) when a Tibetan monk died the body was often dismembered and thrown over a cliff. During the act of dying bowls were used to hold the spirit during its transmigration. Kevin "Poetry is, at once, what you get... and how you get there." Fascinating image, with or without the annotation. "As soon as the generals and the politicos can predict the motions of your mind, lose it." Wendell Berry |

Interesting...I read a book that said that the Dalai Lama and about 150,000 Tibetans are refugee's in India...some even believe that Steven Seagal is a reincarnated Chung-rag Dorje. The Chinese government is not sympathetic to Tibetan religions nor to the Falun Gong. I believe Li Hongzhi, the supreme deity of Falun Gong is living in New York now...James |
