Never Again

I’ll not return again, my friends,
for I must take my leave
And seek another place to live
the things that I believe

I shall not pass this way again
where life has tightly spun
its threads of joy around my heart
in love that I had won

I take with me the memories
engraved in sorrow's eye
Of golden days afforded to a
dreamer such as I

The sadness of the love I lost
forever will abide
in spirits intimate domain
that holds a last good-bye

I could not bear to see the another
dawn without him near
Yet every town I travel through
will see a morning tear

Though days will pass and time will heal
I’ll miss the dearest friend
that I have known; and I will never
pass this way again

Sorrow, like the night will always advance faster then we can ever catch it and await us in the dark hours. Stand and write. Enjoyed this poignant piece.

Goodbyes are so very difficult... but sometimes when we lose our heart's dearest treasure, other goodbyes become our only option.

This is a beautiful, tender write, Elizabeth. And I hope your path never necessitates taking leave of here... You are one of PIP's greatest treasures. *S*

Very much a treasure, for even sorrow needs a place to stay, to show us where we were, and of our growths, of the friends we have garnered, the lives and loves touched...

and please, this "is" a spectacular poem, but not in any way, shape or form, a note of what might pass....

correct?

Goodbyes are necessary sometimes and have a place in our hearts, for only when they are in their place, is there room for hellos!  Poignant piece from a tender heart.

Truly lovely comments you have writtenabout this poem, and I thank you all deeply for your kind words
Decaflame. this poem is not personal, except for the fact that I, and probably others too, don't like to return to places where I have suffered.
