Love just writes its fiction on the factions of my heart
Whispers words and twinkling verse, then it does depart
Imprints its thoughts of passions play deep into my mind
Sears them all so deeply, then it leaves my soul behind

If love is such a splendoured thing, then tell me where’d it go?
Hey, ain’t it supposed to stick around?, someone tell it so
It pops into my life one day, rings at the front door
Wanders round the house a bit, then out the back once more

Sure love can tell some stories, all with flowers and romance
Of hearts like candy, eyes like stars, and lovers set to dance
Well, now I start to think of it, it does sound kinda swell
Maybe I could let it take a peek…oh what the hell

Yes love can write its fiction on my heart just one more time
Though love can be a pain to bear, it’s also quite devine
I’ll take one of its candy hearts, though cavities I’ll get
Cause love makes life worth living…. and I ain’t dead just yet

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Oh Regina, ROFLMAO at your reply. Combat boots!! Damn it, that's what I'm missing!!! Believe it or not, I wrote the first stanza as a serious piece the other day, but it wouldn't finish itself. I picked it back up again last night, and it just finished itself in a more humorous way. And I like it better that way, cause love should be fun.

Ah Nancy, thank you. I always plunge in with both feet. Regret it sometimes, but it never stops me from doing it again. LOL

Noah, thank you sweet friend. Love is indeed a beautiful thing. I hope to find it again one of these days.

Larry, thank you. My soft spot is softer than a Cadburys chocolate. And I never give up(well, not for more than a few days anyway!!)

Candy hearts devine
Upon your tongue sometimes
Dance a lover’s tango
Enjoy the treat
While it’s still sweet
For some dissolve
while others grow

Duncan, how the hell do you do that?? I can't put thoughts across in less than 20 lines, and you can get a meaning across in about 20 words!!!

There are so many types of love, all seem to have a mind of there own except one ... a love true. This has only one heart, and one vision ... the eternal passion of two.
Meanwhile, keep the combat boots close, you never know when they will come in handy!!

Buy me a beer and I'll tell ya.
I'm not as good as you think, Tracey...I had my original response written inside a candy heart and couldn't get it to transfer.  lol

Tracey, you are so funny. You wouldn't last off love's trail for more than a week. And since you have such a great smile and sense of humor, you won't last long on your own anyway.  The stampede is probably already hot on your trail. Better get those combat  boots out...you may even want to get a lasso, to make sure you grab the right cowboy this time.

Cat, it's so good to see you back. Glad you arrived home safely

Kit, I consider that high praise from the Queen of storytelling

Walt, thank you. I'm so glad you liked it.

Amy, those are indeed high words of praise. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And I'm so glad for you that your life is so very happy with your new love. Your joy really shines through in your poetry
