Words sweet and tender
Meaning nothing to the sender
A heart can render
Leaving you with a bad taste for love

Words sweet and tender
Can sound like thunder
To the mind of the lonely
Slowly ripping it asunder

My words soft and tender
Now has ceased
The love in my heart is deceased

Words soft and tender
Will no longer be written to you
You left my life ~ took me out of view

For I have written you
But only got silence back
No longer will my heart be uncovered for attack

I am gone ~ forever to be alone
I m burning bridges as I go
I should have left a long time ago

I know the feeling and pain of "no reply".....

Oh Alan, such heartfelt sorrowful words. Haven't seen you round here for a while. Nice to see you back, and here's hoping that tomorrow brings a brighter day

Oh Alan, to think that such beautiful words such as yours are going to waste on the woman they are intended for.
Luckily, the ladies here receive your words with such enthusiasm.

Well expressed even though it hurts, sometimes we don't know how to let go, but we must. Thanks for sharing

Sometimes it's hard to write about painful things, but you've expressed it well.
