The bed was so empty without you last night.
I tried cuddling a pillow and holding it tight,
But stared at the ceiling as the room grew light
And another day began.

I've never experienced what you make me feel.
Is this a fantasy? Could it be real?
Sometimes I fear my response reveals
More, perhaps, than it should.

You kiss me and all conscious thought recedes;
I'm reduced to a creature of wants and needs
That touches and worships, tastes and pleads
For fulfillment in your arms.

I'm still not sure what kind circumstance
Brought about this dream romance,
But I'd sell my soul to be given the chance
For one more hour with you.

When you do get that one more hour, do not let it pass idly.

Beautiful words and so heartfelt. This poem really spoke to me.

Belle - Such a sweet poem of need.  You are such a wonderful writer, and I'm never disappointed in what you write.

Hey there Lady Suthern... Has that rag of a Toe gone afoot again?  Shame on him to leave such as you all alone. I will say your offering here is filled to the brim with emotion... well done... liked the flow and style.

Suthern....this is superb...I like the way
you rhymed the first three lines and then
closed with a unique fourth line.  Very nice
poem,  I must say...

Lady in White: There are times when I'd settle for just 5 minutes... too bad the soul market is so depressed. *G* Thank you very much... for reading and for your kindness. *S*

Marge: Well... it's not my fault. *G* It was already ripped out, so I threw the thing away... and it had better NOT find its way back home. LOL. Thank you, sweet lady... for everything. *S*

wayoutwalt: Since I know far more about single than married, I'll take your word for it... but I sure HOPE marriages would be that committed. *G* Thank you... and it's good to see you, too. *S*

dolphin: If ever miracles happen, I will. *S* A poet can ask for no more than to touch another... thank you very much! *S*

SmartChick: Thank YOU for reading! *S*

jellybeans: But... but... but... at least you READ it! LOL. I'd begun to think the dern thing put every recipient comatose... so believe me, this got posted ONLY because you survived a read. *G* ROFLL @ COWAN... I do love you, O&O!!! Thank you! And a big ole ditto to that "love the way you write" thing. *S*

Nightshade:  I'm so glad... thank you! *S*

LJA: You honor me, dear friend... but yanno, Lor's gonna have my hide if I go wipin' tears on your shoulder... so I'll just send a heartfelt thank you and pretend you didn't just make this ole biddie cry. *G*

Enchantress: Thank you... I'm glad you liked! *S*

Andrew Scott: That fleet-footed Toe's appearances are as rare these days as they are appreciated... and you know he IS appreciated! *G* Thank you, kind sir... I'm so glad you liked this style... your well done is greatly valued. *S*

Magnus: You just made my day! *S* Thank you so much for liking... it's odd, but me. *S*

Martie: So my stiff upper lip act just didn't work, hunh? *G* Thank you so much, kind lady... for both the well done and the hugs... both mean much to me. *S*

Interloper: Thank you so much... for both the read and the hugs. *S*

And if I seem to have accepted sympathy and concern cavalierly, please forgive me. I think I missed the mark with this one, even though it's one of my favorites from 40 years of scribbling. *S* For it's not supposed to be sad... it was written when I was feeling like the luckiest woman in the world, with a heart full of hope, wonder and beginnings, just waiting for that next meeting. *S* I do appreciate each and every comment... and thank you all for reading and caring. *S*
