Just click my mind three times for me and say these magic words
“I hope these boots are thick enough, I hate it when it hurts”
These feet are callused and may not be ones that I would choose
But wills to walk on clouds and such may spur inside my shoes

Adrift inside a bubble no more fantasmical a ride
My armor and my wings have yet no abilities to hide
It’s me and this barrier of magical thinning soap
That washes ‘way the hindrances and gives away to hope

I caught a shard of lightening and penned a fond haiku
For everything is beautiful when seen in different hue
I sent a ballad as a prayer floating up to be received
The Song of Life in gratitude that now my eyes believe

Fighting with triviality that my life is just a mold
That I am like the multitude yet driven from the fold
The sheep in herds and I am black about to take the sun
Floating past and then I’m gone for all their day is done

I clear the atmosphere to a new world of unbeknowns
My bubble pops so suddenly as repression’s overthrown
Now I can bounce the beauty of Earth, here, and to and fro
To witness a world through these eyes no soap can kindly show

Here I watch the Earth collide with molecules of might
Circle the sun, obediently, to a greater light
Paths create along the years more ways for me to roam
To other constellations where someone like me is home

My bones grow even larger as my brain begins to swell
I take a bag to scattered stars saving them as shells
Setting foot on luscious worlds then wasting them at will
For I was once a noble man now living for a thrill

At the end of destruction’s path my soles begin to wear
So, idly, I pull the stitches out, as if I do not care
My shoes of magic, I did rely, give way to callused feet
And now my days of wonderment seem more than just complete

I hear the blend of buzzings, try tear my frame of bliss
What is this abandonment... This hell? Oh what is this?
The stars I kept so selfishly in my bag I call my Worth
Somehow slipped and spilled above, my resting place of Earth

So now I lay so lazily on the shore of depression’s beach
At least it’s quite so crowded here, I feel I am in reach
We all are walking barefoot for our boots would just get wet
Watch for peddlers with stolen shoes in case we should forget.

Im sitting here in tears and Im not even sure why...this cadence kissed poem of discovery and wisdom touches me in places deep...
thank for that Walt.....when you write...
youre never lost.
take care of you poet sir...use sunblock on that beach...I've spent enough time there to tell ya the burn is a *****

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

i dig it! too bad we have to come back down from the outerspace trips, otherwise people would have nothing to talk about.  this poem made me feel like i was rocket man breaking the sound barrier with thrusting timberland rocket boots.  there are some awesome things here...i think ill read it again...nice job!

This is a helluva piece of writing Walt. I've read it three times now, and get something new out of it each time. Brilliantly done

"I hear the blend of buzzings try tear my frame of bliss
What is this abandonment... This hell? Oh what is this?
The stars I kept so selfishly in my bag I call my Worth
Somehow slipped and spilled above, my resting place of Earth" -- that is an incredible verse, dear walt.  As is the rest of this!  Bravo, I am truly impressed!

Depression's beach certainly has been crowded in recent days... nevertheless, this is one of your best, my wayout friend...
