What creature this, who pens of sorrow's bite? In haunting voice of golden nightingale, O' muse afar, dark orchid of the night, With thy sorrow, thee doth mine heart impale. Thine arrow's sting; angel's melancholy, Thou art night's flame, as thee mesmerize, With thy searing dirge of life's finale, In darkest night, illume the blackest skies. I fear thy touch, for in thy sad refrain, Thee penetrate, to deep within mine soul, I fathom not thy lure; exquisite pain, Why doth thy sorrow's bite to me extol? Dark night's seraph, lament of thy refrain, Angelic grace, dark beauty cloaked in pain. O' Muse, tho' oft thee quill of sorrow's bite, Thy gentle song, springs forth as fragrant rose, In radiant bloom, aglow in welkin's light, As flows thy pen; of inner depths disclose. To hear thy golden voice, thy pulchritude, Doth resonate as Venus from on high, An angel's harp, lets me thy heart intrude, Allowest man, to touch upon night's sky. Upon a far and distant star, thee weep, Beyond the realm of mortal man, thy pain Transcends across known bounds of time, to leap Deep chasms of one's soul, with pain's refrain. In thy sorrow, Fair Muse, doth heaven sing, Splendor, on feathered grace of angel's wing. Where have thee gone, dark orchid of the night? Do not thee hear, mine pleas for thy reprise? To feel again, the joy of pain's delight, To gaze upon twin bloom of emerald eyes. Black silken hair, as soft as angel's wing, Red satin lips, rose chalice of thy wine, That sates my soul, pain's pleasures that thee bring, Warm sting of throbbing verse, mine heart entwine. Beauty of a midnight moon, thy shadowed veil, Doth not thee hide, but only men entice, From forth thy cage, sweet notes of nightengale, Darkness bathed in Luna's light, night's paradise. I yearn thy kiss, dark orchid of the night, To feel once more, the pain of sorrow's bite. I beg of thee, dark orchid of the night, Return to me, in glow of heaven's light, Forever and forever more I long, Sweet pleasure of thy thorns; dark orchids's song. "I fear thy touch, for in thy sad refrain, Thee penetrate, to deep within mine soul, I fathom not thy lure; exquisite pain, Why doth thy sorrow's bite to me extol?" "Beyond the realm of mortal man, thy pain Transcends across known bounds of time" Oh, I know this muse too well, for in my heart also does she dwell... I liked this, even in its pleading sadness. |

To feel again, the joy of pain's delight, and even pain is better than nothing...sigh. But I loved the flow of classic rhythm here, and normally? I do not--but in this instance, for me, it did not distance the emotion from the message. I have much more to say about this one, but then again, sometimes I just have too much to say!! *snaps* |

This is enchanting. Gives me images of your muse being from medieval days. Lovely If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Your words take me into a past where words had the ability to weave magic in the air when spoken with such skill as this. I love the whole feel of this wonderful poem. Thank you, so very much, for sharing it. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
