 ~~~ Red Roses ~~~ I was given red roses The other day I looked at them and wondered what do they say? But Wonder more what would they say If you were the one Who gave them that day? Would their whispers be different? Their red a darker hue To tell of the heart of you? Their touch Silky and more velvet than before To tell of that door? I wonder what would you say As you give these roses away Would you make sure That our fingers touch As you give those roses Wrapped in your hush? Would you leave your imprints? Your words? Secretly hidden Inscribed within the folds of the soft petals and I would count the words the letters your name echoing there my name endlessly written within that silky velvet wear. Would you give roses Wet with their twinkling dew? Droplets shining As the brightest star To tell me just who you are. Would you ask me to close my eyes As you leave them in my hand Wishing Praying That I would understand? Or would you send them with someone else? Not wanting to be the messenger Of this crimson message And all it tells But If you only know of my ignorance All my articulated knowledge lost Wrapped in this crimson cell. Oh……I know How would you choose To give them with a deep sigh held together With your favourite tie How would you choose Not to let me go Until I hear in their every whisper Every breath The breath and The pounding heart of you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you  "Oh...me!Oh Life! *sigh* absolutely beautiful. Wouldn't it be wonderful to get roses. *sigh* how incredibly romantic. This poem is heavenly. Thank you, so much, for sharing it. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

This one's going straight to my library. It is so brilliant! I am a red rose lover as you can tell! Especially liked this stanza.. "I wonder what would you say As you give these roses away Would you make sure That our fingers touch As you give those roses Wrapped in your hush?" I sincerely hope that you get those roses, handed directly to you. Your words are testament to what you deserve from a gift so nice. Being so many styles of poetry, I feel that the message is far more impor- tant than just the form. IF a person remembers your words, smiles from them, gets a warm feeling.....then I feel you have done well. And....you have. |

Certainly the message is far more important than the form...and when it comes to poetry the stirring feelings also count.
