Tit for tat..just some thoughts on retaliation. Tom Wales worked diligently throughout the night to curtail the spread of speeding bullets. And the next day one stopped him in his tracks. Karam farmers toiled long hours in the fields to grow enough to feed their hungry children. Next day torn apart by bombs of retaliation. A Taliban man races past the corpses in the field to re-enforce the hillside bunker so he can have a piece of the action of retaliation. She nurses a sore arm, twisted hard by a small child unable to manage his anger and frustration. She consoles his aching heart, in retaliation. He picks up the baseball bat just thrown at him, hands it back to the frustrated player, and asks, "Was my call unfair? Do we need new rules out there?" Retaliation. |

(tears fall down my cheeks) So very powerfully emotional these thoughts are; there are many kinds of thoughts of retaliation I have to, and many require much love and special-attention! My heart cries out to all the innocent victims of this strike, and all the victims and their families forced to retaliate! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

There's one thing every war has in common....it is the innocents that suffer...an incredibly sad commentary on humanity. ![]() This is very well done, Noah... |

Thanks for reading, Duncan. It was one of those poems that nearly wrote itself as I read the news. It's too bad that the hateful parts of the poem are based on real events of the past two days. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (edited 10-14-2001).] |
