I envy the Phoenix,
her ability to renew herself,
to wipe away the rust and the dust
of mankind's mistakes.

Phoenix! rise from the dust!
Hearts are awaiting rebirth.
Spread your wings of love,
that the tree of life
may spring forth
the buds of Peace
to grow 'round
the world.

Bewitching---a prayerful incantation of resurrection....I adored this! It spoke to me.

Ah, somehow I knew you would like this one, Serenity. And for you, isn't this the bewitching hour anyway?

Hope you've got a sense of humor (if not forgive me and blame it on the hour)...but I thought of something very different when I read your title.  This is a great poem, anyway I read it.  What time is it there, anyway?

LOL. It was an intentional attention-getting-mechanism. And here, it is almost 11. For serenity, what? 2AM? Glad you liked it, Duncan. BTW, do you have Dunkin donuts for breakfast?

I usually don't have breakfast but if I did and if it was doughnuts...it would be Krispy Kreme.  Good one, though.  I'll get you back.  lol

Oh yum! Krispy Kremes. I haven't seen one of those in years. I'd let you send one up here, but by the time they got to my door they would be Frozen Frybabies. My daughter is being disgustingly sensible right now, and eating apple chips. I'm hungry all of a sudden.

Yes, much like a prayer for peace.  If only this world could get along, stop the hatred.  Just a dream, I guess, but one all of us hope could some day come true.  Nice work!  Thank you for this.

Michael, thanks! Yes, it is a wish for peace. And if I knew how to add pictures to my posts, I would have tried to add a phoenix and a dove flying with an eagle, circling the globe with garlands of love buds freshly picked from that tree of life.
Thank you very much for sharing this image.

Actually, I've never seen that picture I just described...maybe it is time to dust off the rusty  paintbrushes and paint something again. See how you have inspired me????

Just for you my poet friend!

Not quite the dove encircling as you described with garlands of love...couldn't find that either...Please paint.
I love the message of the ancient phoenix. Very beautiful!

Sincerely,
Regina

Wow, Regina. That's quite the Phoenix. Now I really am envious, but for a different reason. Hehe.
Yes, I think I will paint that scene, or wait until a real artist like Auguste does it for me. (SMILES for Michael)

A rebirth brought to life with words that reach out and give us all strength to stand up and start anew. I love the whole feel of this poem. It gave me stength just to read it. Thank you, so much, for sharing it.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Startime, thanks. I am so glad this gives you comfort. And for strength, did you see that pix in Regina's reply? Now that's a lady of power.

Midnitesun,
Silly me.  I thought you envied something Arizona has.  Nice poem, by the way.

Now I'm really falling out of my chair...,I never even thought about Phoenix, AZ. SORRY.
But since it's below freezing outside, maybe I should have thought about the Arizona sunshine. Larry, thanks for reading. Now you can go back out to your tortoise and hare race. Hehe.
