I don’t need a muscle bound hero

Nor a warrior bathed in glory
who doesn’t know how to hold me right.
The best brain in the world is no use
if he doesn’t know what’s on my mind.
The world’s greatest chef cannot prepare
the food of love on which I would dine.
All I need is your sweet love for me
and that shines bright in your poet’s soul.
The light in your eyes when you see me
the only thing that can make me whole.

(Just wondering out loud what it would be like to be loved by a poet

)
