A blank page waits. Soon it will be filled with words - from thoughts that I've kept hidden away in cobwebbed recesses. I am forging them to the front now, digging them out painstakingly through each layer. Memories linger in the dank air and slow my progress, making me want to turn back and give up on this painful operation. But the page waits, as do you and so I prod on. I near the front, and look back on the path I have cleared. I know now what I must write. I would rather tramp through the tenebrous alcoves of my mind than write those words. All of them leading to the one word that I would hide away forever - Goodbye. |

A wonderful well done piece to express the struggle that writers go through as they try to put forth their thoughts and feelings.... I really enjoyed it..... Thank you ************************** It's only me.......only me |

Ah, a slow walk to a painful end. Well said. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve" |

Well done! If the words won't come just wait...they will. Goodbye is the hardest thing to say sometimes. Hugs, Deb |

MyEnchanted_Melody ~ I should be the one thanking you dear poetess. So yes, thank you for your kind words. wpwpoet ~ very true...but we will always do it because we are writers and we have this compulsion to get our thoughts out. RSWells ~ yes, a very painful end...even as I wrote it, I did not want it to come to that. BloomingRose ~ Thank you Deb, and you are right on that one! Goodbye is so very hard to say. Thanks for the hugs |

Goodbyes suck. They are always so final. I prefer "see you", for we always will, even if it's in our memories, thoughts, and dreams, and at least for that pathetic little iota of hope we may maintain, there is some solace in the door still being a crack ajar -- just enough to keep the dormant ember of hope glowing... A very powerful write, Krista -- liked it much. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Even the word excavation dredges up painful thoughts...and writer's block fits with that description alright! |

Mark ~ yes, goodbyes do suck! I like your idea of "see you"...that's an optimistic way of looking at it. Unfortunately, when you are faced with a true "goodbye," it is hard to hold such optimistic views! But I will try and hold on to that tiny ember of hope Dulcinea ~ you know, you are right! The word just *felt* right...I didn't really plan it out. But now I see it was perfect Funny how that works out sometimes isn't it? Thank you for the read and comments! |
