You are mine You snuck in Peering round my corners As I careened Through life Then you grabbed my heart At first you held On to me Tightly So tightly We shared cooing And you were dependent On my many Moods But as things go We both had a lot of Growing to do Even when There were days we Collided together In laughter There were other days We bruised Egos Still, you were mine I tried desperately To recall how it was for Me before you The struggles would not Always come back Because I was placed in This “place” And had to take on the Roles created by Loving you For you were mine Soon, Too soon You loosened your grip And explained you No longer needed Me While it was expected It still hurt For you were still mine In the letting go There was a sense of Freedom for both But at what cost I wonder if I am Still as much yours As you are still mine Only time, and your Own child, Will tell I’m here. |

Whoa! Heartfelt write. Superb. Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. Philip Sidney (1554-1586) Loving in Truth |
