those days there are those days when multi- faceted tenets are crystaled clarity, mirrored factions and I am pleased by the refraction there are those days Gumby-spined all I am missing is green latitude but buoyed by my friend’s consistent smile then there are those days when the pull of taffy’s elasticity becomes stiffer, even in the hot sun, as it can only take so much before the break, until… until it meets the mouth and dissolves into the melt tomorrow I will crystallize again |

Boy, I used to love the taste of taffy when I was young, especially on warm summer days when one could just pull and pull and watch it stretch until it became spaghetti thin and then hold it high over the mouth and let it fall in.....this poem put that taste right back in my mouth...after many years. Thanks, Sunshine!!! |
