Wind whirled Scattered scales Of standing dinosaurs Now journey Nowhere. And I wonder; Why do we destroy The older parts Leaving the Stumps behind To stumble over As they rot slowly Into holes Never filled Later seasons Cover depression With blankets Of snow But fail to Fill the voids |

this certainly sends my mind to wandering to wanting to give answers, and yet, uncertain of their worth and succinctness, so to keep from spending the day arguing with myself, even though guaranteed a win if it's settled at all, I choose to step aside and watch the other's ponderings |

VAS... think of this one as an analogy for the things in our life that we or others destroy..but always seems we are left with the stump and roots..to trip over in our day to day..or to stumble over at night... time rots these, but leaves a hole...one that seasons change and cover...but we still find we can fall into. You can also take it as simple the loss of old growth forest... or any older forest... what ever suits your mind... |

It’s the beavers fault for it all, Leaving the phallic remains for winter, Taken and left before the snow fall, To perhaps become a December dinner, Dam the flows of August storms, With lightening across the summer sky, Till a serene pond takes calm forms, Ice will cover all when snows fly. The voids are still laying there, Last years dinner stub still rotting, Beneath the mound sleep without care, All prepared done is all plotting. But the storms will break down branches, Survival is a matter of chances. Gloom |

I agree with all the previous possibilities, but you know, I find this to be more personal, in that there are always remnants of things from our past to trip us up in the future. But I'm just a depressed kinda girl Sandra |

Well, I get more than one viewpoint on the ups and downs of a historical perspective, and will admit to having found a few of those pitfalls, some of which remind me of the LaBrea tar pits... but I have also see the heights, and I fight mighty hard against the tar to reach them... |
