If I had never loved |

If I had never loved, I never would have cried ‘All things come full circle,’ said I ‘I’ll just gather my things, and then am homeward bound’ And she just sat there stone faced, daring not a sound Somehow I knew we would be strangers forever more As soon as I walked out the closing door Now I hear the drizzle of rain outside my window Such as a voice that fills my head like an echo I wonder what she is doing on this dreary day If chance brought us together, what would I say? I would surely be a different man before her eyes From the corner of her mind where my memory lies Back then was a time of innocence Unafraid we were of the consequence A moment of time that will never be again She helped shape the man that I am How could time rob me so surely of this memory? Every day brings another loss of mental clarity But a sense of who I was always remains Even so long after all the growing pains Still there are questions left unasked As I resign myself to the torturous task Of wondering about a love that died, And simply wondering, why? |

We may indeed never know why we go through the losses that we do... I have come to accept the fact that I was in someone's life for a reason...and some reasons may never be fully explained... all I can hope, is that I leave behind smiles... So very glad to see you posting again, PK...keep it up! |

'From the corner of her mind where my memory lies Back then was a time of innocence Unafraid we were of the consequence A moment of time that will never be again' This really is an awesome write, PK...sometimes it is hard to figure out why some truly good things end..I love this... sp it was love that first drew me, |

PoeticKnight~ ‘All things come full circle,’ Yes ... and in the turning - returning the loveliest of memories. Answers aren't always found ... but we continue to turn the memories, one sweet page at a time. Very nicely done. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
