Proud man whose words resound in history
regales self titled crown a cut above,
yet bowed by one thing found a mystery,
he sails a tidal wave and drowns in Love.

Beings who climb as ants on Everest,
are well acquainted with the ocean's floors,
now harken to the call of space's quest,
yet weaken in an onset of L'amour.

His world's powered from coalmines and sunshine,
designing data to defeat desease,
Beethoven, Rembrandt, Sagan and Einstein,
But thoughts of passion brings him to his knees.

Builds war machines whose ranks are civilians
and skyscrapers and pyrimids and more,
manages to feed in numbers billions,
the wealth of man where Love's concerned is poor.

True Love's elusive and intangible
and ne'er by any two the same defined,
unsettled the human heart's frangible
and shall not by our wishes be confined.

Which only brings us equalled in that special weakness I pray. Being that I'm a woman. I find the weakness very appealing and necessary in men. And I'm very grateful for it as well. Love is as love does..amazing things. Which you presented beautifully. I loved reading this!
