Material things and plastic people Make up a lot of our world today So I thought through my words I would share with you Some things that I wanted to say We all have very different values No one's perfect, that's certainly true But let's stop and think of others Instead of just me and you What an ideal world we'd live in If we were just accepted for who we are Not dictated by looks and fashion For just being our own shining star We all have a light inside us Love helps us emit such a glow So allow your light to shine brightly And may your love continue to grow Suetang |

Positive and hopeful, Sue. Catch seems to be that we, as poets and artists, ARE living in an "idealistic world" -- one of our own making... now, as you suggest, it's a matter of actually TRANSFERING some of those ideals of fantasy and fiction into everyday life. Sometimes the smallest things can go the furthest distance -- smiling at someone; donating some time or goods to a good cause; planting a tree; saying an honest "thank you" more often... So many different things that can be done DAILY by us and the people we know, and though we can't change others, we can surely change ourselves and teach by example. Good write and kudos to you for the thought and effort! -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |
