Awakening is not a matter of weeks,
Or years,
or lifetimes.
It is a loving and patient unfolding.
A journey into love.
We only have to let go
Of what blocks our hearts
To see the love and the light
That shines within us.
Oftentimes,
We allow our fears and frustrations
Rule our lives
And we miss out on
The love and compassion
Being offered to us by others.
The most difficult task
Any of us can endure
Is to believe in ourselves.
To quiet our spirit and listen.
Listen to the answers
That lie within our hearts and souls.

We have all come upon moments in our lives
When,
In deep pain and suffering
We question our faith.
We pick at the scabls and scars
In our hearts.
Searching for answers:
Answers we fear we may never find.
But,
If we truly listen to our hearts
We will know that fear
Is a place that has not yet discovered love.
Fear sees limits,
While love sees possibilities.

Sometimes,
We allow our fears paralyze us.
We clutch our past
So tightly to our chest
That it leaves our arms
Too full to embrace the present.

We all have lessons to learn in our lives,
But,
The only true purpose
Each of us has on earth
IS LOVE.
Without love in our hearts
Not just for others-
But for ourselves-
We are lost.

Love is the seed that gave birth
To my spiritual awakening
It is the only truth that I have
It is the most precious gift that I have to offer
ANd I offer it unconditionally.
All I ask in return-
Is for you to open your hearts to receive it.
And live in the light and the love
That is within each and every one of you.

Wonderful Poem just full of truths.
Surely we must be still and listen if we are to find our selfs and the truths in our lifes. Ecellent.

Almost a doctrine of Wisdom you have here, Lisann... I hope more people come across this poem and truly consider its content, for indeed you have some very important and relevant conclusions contained here.
