Buttercups (Rewritten) In shadows of an ancient oak beside a mellowed wall of stone I hear the words that poets spoke, in tranquil moments of my own Surrounded by a yellow field, this secret place is Eden’s twin and here is where the verses yield a splendid passion felt within I sit and read my poetry, Not even sparrow interrupts Tomorrow’s dream will come to be a meadow laced with buttercups Elizabeth Santos |
