If I Could Spread My Love Around

If I could spread my love for you
Around this spinning world
The beauty written in my heart
Would be at once unfurled

You’d see it on the mountain top
In snowy crystal gleam
In poppy ‘s bright red petal bloom
In sparkles of a stream

Transported on an eagle’s wing
Across the desert sky
In twinkling stars of heaven’s sea
Within a daisy’s eye

And every place your eyes would touch
Would be a loving part
Of all the adoration cast
In mirrors of my heart

Look up upon the hills of green
Look to the meadow’s hues
Of goldenrod and buttercup
And lupine’s midnight blues

Look out across the ocean’s mist
Look down into the pond
Look inward to the splendor of
The soul of which I’m fond

For therein lies the silver crest
Of life’s most precious dream
And I would spread this mystic glow
In every mountain stream

How else could I describe this, but glorious Liz. The rhythm is so sweetly flowing and the imagery it brings to mind's eye is so vivid. This piece is just filled with warmth and love ... beautiful, my friend.

So many things stand out about your poetry..
your talent for painting the images with your words is always impressive...as is your smooth as silk cadence..
but as Kit mentioned...its also about a lovely warm glow that come from the emotions express. A sweet sincerity.
This is a wonderful write of devotion.

This has a very full, complete sound to it, Elizabeth...it comes off the tongue in a loving way, and fills the heart of those who are empty...
