Fallen allies, with sorrow I sit. |

I’ve penned the words of sorrow for a country that does need I watched the force of evil with its factions sow its seed I’ve set my eyes on people who all join in faith and act And watch to see an outcome as the innocents react I was numbed and full of feelings for the many who are lost And cry for all the children as they wait and count the cost I reach out for the victims who have lost the ones they love And pray through day and through each night, that heaven lays above A part of me has died inside, a part that used to trust For how can other human beings turn others into dust I seek a resolution and an ending to the pain And that the world, not ever, go through this grief again All our lives have changed indeed and anger raised its head I say I love you more and more and pray each night in bed I see each day with sunshine now, though clouds may cover all I think of allies far away, with sorrow and recall |

As what has happened to the US can happen anywhere, it is good to know that we are not alone. This will affect all. In joining together, whether through compassion of expression or acts in kind, we shall once again all revel in the sunshine. Thank you Rick! |

Indeed this will affect all. Rick, your words here are written with such a tender touch that one cannot help but be moved upon reading. "A part of me has died inside, a part that used to trust For how can other human beings turn others into dust I seek a resolution and an ending to the pain And that the world, not ever, go through this grief again" I have thought and hoped for the same things. This will surely awaken the world to the dangers that are really out there. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the read. ~AF~ "Kelly's my Hero!" "No, Kelly's your heroine." "Kelly has heroin??" "What?" |

Thank you all for reading, I feel that you are all family, by sharing a small part of your sorrow I hope to lighten your burden and help you to go on to help others who are indeed in need. May your tomorrows bring sunshine and happier times. Rick |
