Just another school day that turned upside down
Two planes crashed and The World Trade Center came tumbling down
I've lived through a day in history
But all I feel is misery
Trains and buses kept us from getting to our homes
But as New Yorkers we kept level heads and we stand strong
Phone lines, computers, cells, and pagers were cut
Whoever did this were cowards cause innocent lives soon fell short
Whoever did this decided to attack out towers: symbols of commerce and order
And when I realize the date- 9.11- I feel they're mocking our defense system
Whoever did this wasn't playing, this wasn't a joke
Now I look out my window to see empty space and smoke.

As my borough has always stated- Do or Die.

I didn't want to get into detail about the attacks because some people can't take it.
But believe me when I tell you that this day felt like a horror movie.
There are a thousand thoughts running in a head as to how this situation could have been avoided.
I've seen concerts on the Twin Towers, and I've always wanted to eat on the rooftop restaurant...but I'll never get to do that.
I didn't realize that this could happen to one of the most safest cities in the world, but it did happen.
My mother saw the entire ordeal happen from the planes crashing to the buildings falling.
I ask that you pray for the families who are trying to hear word about this situation.
I woke up this morning wondering if it was just a nightmare.
GWriter, babyboy thanks for all your concern, Marge thanks for thinking of me, I truly appreciate it.

I'm sorry such a horror has touched your life, but we are all here for you.  The pain of the terror shows strong in your poetry.  Life has taken a turn for the worse, but as a nation and a family we will remain strong.  If you need anything, please let me know!

With my pen I shall create,
With my mind I shall explore,
With my strength I shall endure,
With my poetry I shall have legacy.

Hey Domzi

Not to repeat what everyone else has already said but I am glad you are allright and I'm sorry that you had to be so close to the tragic site. We'll pull through this together, We are a STRONG nation.
