I was lost, so alone, gypsy child without a home Not knowing which direction I should take... I’ve had dreams, some were schemes, had my share of in-betweens Their pleasure lacked in substance, they were fake... I have laughed, I have cried, walked away with wounded pride Didn’t have the strength to carry on... Then somewhere, on my way, I ran out of words to say And the magic disappeared from my heart’s song... When it seemed at it’s worst, like my empty heart would burst I looked and found your smiling angel eyes... Your strong arms lifted me, stood me tall, so I could see Then up we flew, into the sunlit skies... Fly me high, fly me long, as we sing our new love song It’s filled with much more magic than before... On your strong wings of love, fly me to the stars above And now that I’m with you, I’ll not need more... From one day, to the next, in my world your love reflects It’s you I’ll hold and cherish ‘til I die... In my heart, in my soul, love has taken full control I’m captured, teach my willing wings to fly... Flying high, to the sun, we both know this is the one love will keep us soaring if we try... Then when time closes in, earthly flight comes to an end Beyond forever, we will ever fly... This is dedicated to John, the angel in my life... The road goes on forever, and the stories never end... |
