“BEAUTY OF A WOMAN” by Bill Charles ~~~~ I walk this lonely path, in search of you, stumbling along this forsaken, barren ground… The trees staring at me, dancing with the wind, perhaps they are saying to me, listen for your sound… At the end of the path, you were standing there, under the waterfalls, and I only stared… The sun shone down touching you, through the silence, knowing then for certain, that my heart still cared… Streams of water, cascading over your presence, showers wet, and running through your hair… It shined and sparkled, like diamonds in the sunlight, and I remembered all the nights, of my despair… Your head tilted back, displaying gentle soft lips, there was a time in the past, when I knew them so well… But now they were moist, from droplets that fondled you, not the wetness from my lips, for they would never tell… We spent the night together, close in a loving embrace, I knew deep inside, that when my eyes were to close… And open them once again, you would not be there, but in my heart you would still be, the one I chose… And so again I walk this lonely path, in search of you, stumbling along over forsaken, barren ground… The trees were still staring at me, dancing with the wind, you I would find again one day, but then perhaps, never found… ~~~~ |
