Twenty or Less...#1 |

(Now that I've posted most of my older poetry and lyrics, I'm ready to dive into some fresh writing and thoughts. Since my style tends to be lengthy and very strict form and rhyme, I'm going to try something a little different for me: a new series of poems that I'll call "TWENTY OR LESS..." implying that each will consist of twenty or less words, in free-form style, with the intent of letting the words conjure up subjective impressions and definitions for my readers -- let the previous boundaries of style and form evaporate, for a while, and let's see what your impressions are... Enjoy! -MVS) ==================================================== Which thoughts of this once glowing teacher Made you smile? What music would perhaps be found Inside this heaving hope? What thoughts remembered now taught you most of once glowing reviews and now lost smiles Love this Mark... always like to try and stretch my own styles... and I think I am going to enjoy your efforts to do the same. |

Cool, Ron -- that would be an interesting "challenge" to have the readers of this series respond in equal form, as you have! Each person, within the form, expressing their impressions... Just a thought, but would do you think guys?? -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." --Del Casher [This message has been edited by MARK V SHELDON (edited 07-16-2001).] |

Mark..anytime..I often am inspired by others words to write something of my own... often just putting in part, what I take from their words and putting them into mine..and adding a twist of sorts.. I often wondered... how many words is the minimum for a poem?? |

Decaflame -- that's a good interpretation! I didn't really picture that, conciously, at least... -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Ron, conditionaly, I'd have to answer: one... provided that the reader is open-minded and has a good sense of imagination (and/or humor). Of course, a good vocabulary word, especially with some onomatopoeia would definitely help the process... (I always loved the word "melifluous", for example...) -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." --Del Casher [This message has been edited by MARK V SHELDON (edited 07-16-2001).] |

Words mellifluous melliferous for my soul (chuckling)..I always thought it would take at least 3... to have any real drama... but you could use one word and play with the fonts size etc..and create drama..so perhaps you are right |

Ah yes... I remember the referral to this one, a while back, Sandra... AND it fits the form and content discussed! Connie, I got the first one, and it's very succinctly implied... but the second one lost me... Any clues? -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |
