Add Sugar And Cream

Jotting down some notes
Some bitter, some sweet
Warmth to melt the ice
Here dark and light meet

Emotions become fragile
Heart hung on each strand
Penning bitter and sweet
Flows from the poets hand

Bitter casts down shadows
In darkness I have penned
A tug of war upon the heart
Awaiting for gloom to end

Bitterness attempts to blind
Sweet words bring me light
The battles go on within
I jot down notes each night

Note down sweeter dreams
Words flow from the writer
Add a little sugar and cream
I’m a lover never a fighter

Hope - Yes, what a battle it sometimes is within the writer. Should the words be bitter or sweet. The bitter often take their toll on us. Great work. Chris
