Shores Of Evermore
By Melissa P. Monette

Like gentle waters passing through a windmill
two hearts everflow into one
cherished vows beckons time to stand still
upon the shores of evermore
~ ~ ~
We stand, hand in hand at Heaven's gate ~
a sacred bond, unbreakable and rare,
whispers of "I love you" circle with fate
upon the shores of evermore

A portrait, sketched long ago with God's hand
we kissed, as cherubs ~ wrapped in tender cloud,
now man and woman ~ strolling on golden sand
across the shores of evermore
~ ~ ~
Sailing the azure ocean of love
our boats kiss the silky tides of romance
in angelic celebration blessed from above
through the shores of evermore

Silhouettes sway in the smile of waking sun
skin glistens ~ graced by Cupid's arrow
two souls, enraptured, become one
upon the shores of evermore
~ ~ ~
On the table of reverie, we dine
inhaling, deep, each other's breath
sipping from fortune's chalice ~ delectable like wine
on the shores of evermore

Drawn close by magnets of divine force
we fall ever deeper in connection
drifting on currents of bliss through nature's eternal course
awash over shores of evermore
~ ~ ~
On amore's vast page, we are ink of perfect words
of our soul's fantasies, now penned true
ever as majestic as soaring love birds
over the shores of evermore

At the touch of lips, earthly wings, have we
as waves strum a sonata on a stream of keys
for our passion so pure, so free
crashing over the shores of evermore
~ ~ ~
Beloved soulmates, devoted partners, embracing for life
sharing destiny's gift sealed with golden rings
together, kindred spirits as husband and wife
upon the shores of evermore

I have two guests right now (an internet romance) that is going to be forever!  You write to how real love looks like...I thought I was in love, but after seeing these two over the last five days I know that is not true, real love looks like your poem and them.  Your poem speaks to what real love is beautifully Melissa, and loved the presentation as well.

Melissa
This was such an exquisite piece of writing that captured the pure essence of love and romance.  I felt myself being swept away with your words.  As you probably guessed I am a hopeless romantic too.  Take care...Sue

Melissa,
Any romantic at heart, could not help but be 'swept' away by this.  Absolutely brilliant hon, and the presentation was great too.  Good on you, thanks for sharing this keeper.

Oh, Melissa, this is so exquisite! I am having trouble finding words to describe my feelings here....WOW! I just hope and pray that we both find even a semblance of this love you so tenderly write of! Love, Ellie

Are you my twin my fellow Canuk? I have an "Evermore" with similar thoughts over on Critical. Mine doesn't have a happy ending like yours (though how I wish it did)

This is beautiful, peaceful and great imagery in the words. I love it

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Just a smile and a sigh.....perfectly eloquent
