From here… High atop this man made tower, Lights gleam below with the Twinkle of diamond promise. Lives lost in the hurried frenzy Blend seamlessly into the night Filled with lies and fools gold Peaceful… Illusions scammed on deceptions Draw the empty hearted and lost To this wasteland watered by greed Filling the voids left inside With the rented rooms and love That satisfies less than being alone. From here… High above the grit and lies Beauty sits before us until the Dollars play out… and so do we. |

Cpat--I was in Vegas two weeks ago..and I still feel like my skin holds the smell of the casinos and quarters. Yet, from a distance the sparkle is so beauiful. I guess it just depends on what you're there for. This poem is great! |
