The Fear Of Falling In Love

How do I overcome this fear
of falling to hard, to fast?
I've learned the lessons of life
they are written within my past.

Each time that I have believed
that love was something real,
it has left my heart so full of pain
until nothing inside was left to feel.

I have known precious love before
that reached in and touched my heart,
but it always ends up being something
that makes the teardrops again to start.

I don't know if I can open my heart
because I no longer want to cry,
or if I can ever trust in love again
I don't even know how to begin to try...

I know that love is truly a gift
showered down from heaven above,
but how do I overcome this fear~
the fear of falling in love.....

Sometimes it's hard to love someone because you're so afraid of losing them. But, those who give their hearts freely, even if they get hurt in the process....are in the long run happier and more complete individuals.

Gentle Spirit - thoughts for all to ponder. Perhaps there is no answer to the fear. It does hurt, but gradually is the way not to fear.
