Winter Moon The breeze sweeps softly through the field And touches me like silken lace From where it came, his heart unsealed Love’s longing from a distant place And sent an icy wind to streak His warmth across a lonely cheek The white of moondust settles fine On craggy limbs of weathered beech From where it came, the songs were sung Of dreams that dwell beyond my reach On branches of a moonlit tree Are powdered melodies for me The winds of winter’s starry night Brush tender skin with love’s desire And carry me in fantasy To lover’s nest by warming fire A moon on such a night as this Brings chill of pain and warmth of kiss It is the mind that dreams it heard The message of the silent word Where winter moon floats leisurely And sprinkles love on fence and tree Elizabeth Santos |

Oh,SweetLizzie~ 'The white of moondust settles fine On craggy limbs of weathered beech From where it came, the songs were sung Of dreams that dwell beyond my reach On branches of a moonlit tree Are powdered melodies for me' How beautifully your thoughts fall across the page~ This is a stunning, imagery-laden piece. *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Extremely well penned, Liz, I love it I really like the rhyming technique you used in this piece - very effective, and of course, a wonderful poet such as yourself pulled it off perfectly!~ Melissa~ |
