~*Immortal Scent Of Tea *~

You speak today of yesteday as I listen in awe,
Our cups overflowing knowledge in
cautious, careful scents, sweet sipping of Kalliope,
Decisive movements in white wisp swirls rise,
flung from the cup of finger-curls and rose hips,
blackberry and Thaleia ginger rinds to calm,
as day’s end gets lost in steaming water
swimming golden pale with chamomile,
as immortals rise from dying leaves and petals.

We sit in star-dusted light drawing ancient
memories of recollection for each other.
A sketch of rosehip lips escapes your face,
a treasure to hide, as I gently lock
it in the Kleio memory of my cup.
Intricate patterns spin on the surface,
as foaming waves of Aphrodite float
linden flower swirls gently
in shades of Alexandros.

Eyes lowered and shy, then demanding,
flash steamy whispers of love scents inhaled,
absorbing the essence of eros's passion
until it flows through our veins.
Raging waves of Erato’s ocean of desire,
rarely sipped, disappears in the steaming scent.
Hearts heavy in Melpomene’s fixed movement care,
as each pencil stroke is brought into being.
Hours at the table hunched to slowly grace
the white page with common effigy.

As I sit with porcelain fragile in finger hooked,
Like Athene, you teach me the power of ancient leaves,
all the while searching for Ourania’s living shimmers
of the moon on the ocean or reality in dreams.
My mind wanders to Euterpe’s dream melody,
Where I dreamed of you so many nights and I danced
to slow melodies cast in the wind ages ago
with Zeus and Hera.

Dreams path lay in Eros in a garden of ivy,
blue light, waving lavender, and scents of caution.
Soothed by a trickling fountain of lapis tiles
and marble’s cold touch, sipping in hammock shaded.
You lift me in Terpsichore.
Hearts quicken and beckon to Polymnia’s tune.
That dream is today’s reality
for you sat with steaming cup,
smiling and dreaming of me.

As I gaze into your mind exploding
with recollections of your knowledge
warming your soul, I wonder,
Does your wisdom know the magic of water
Poured on leaves that hold such flavour
And memories that are made when we have tea?

Profound! It takes a great poet to see magic floating atop a tea cup. When my grandma would be done drinking her tea... she use to see her future at the bottom of her cup. I use to drink the tea just to have her tell me my fortune. This read reminded me of that.
Congratulation mystical lady

Hi everyone!  I want to thank you all for your special comments on this bump in the road at Passions, called post 3,000!  I was so "wide awake" and hyper waiting for friends to arrive for a  visit, I got into Greek Mythology and herbal tea, mixed the two, and voila~this rather weird poem started growing while I was into the Immortals trying to get tired!  Thank you for your very supportive comments,
