a name and date I’ve never finished anything about her started on paper though I’ve told the story many times a chapter now and then a verse here and there a question how and why I came to have a tombstone resting in the corner a name and date hers and today nineteen years ago. I sat and listened as your breath struggled to continue one more time the desperation of it causing me to count the seconds willing you to hear don’t be afraid, I know you’re tired I’m tired, too but then the seconds counted were too many willing you to hear breathe, please breathe I know you’re scared, just one more time I’m scared, too. She’s been gone now a year longer than she was here and that knowledge took my breath when I counted tonight not seconds but years so I hesitate to finish these words started on paper. It was so much more than they will relay the reality doesn’t translate well how I came to have a tombstone resting in the corner a name and date hers and today nineteen years ago. |

Beautiful because it's about true love. Sad because it ended. Great expression of love. |

yes, a beautiful write I've been unmarried for more years than I was married, now, one more, well not counting the years before I was married...I guess my life's divided into thirds now. Childhood, marriage, grass-widowhood. I think, in part I can relate a bit to what you've said here. |

Sad one, JLR, but it has a tender quality to it. Very nice write. All writing comes |

JLR~ 'She’s been gone now a year longer than she was here and that knowledge took my breath when I counted tonight not seconds but years so I hesitate to finish these words started on paper. It was so much more than they will relay the reality doesn’t translate well' Very, very tenderly said. *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Thanks all. Though I don't feel this did justice to the emotion, I wanted to somehow say I still remembered even though it's been nineteen years since she died. |
