My little girl is grown up now
I still wonder when it happened and how.
We're making wedding plans and buying gowns
And not very often she chooses to frown.
The date is set, the plans are made,
She's counting the days, to my amaze.
I never see her as the sentimental type,
She doesn't get all dizzy and hyped.
But I read the numbers in her daily planner,
And know she is waiting while the moon is a wanning.
And in a few more months she'll change her name,
And my life with her will never be the same.
I look forward to her special day,
When she joins her mate and is happy and gay.
My prayer for her is that she will always be,
Happy, contented and full of glee.

Wow!!! Congratulations!!!! I wish your daughter lots of love and happiness with a life full of laughter and beautiful memories of her wedding day.  Lorelei, I've ALWAYS enjoyed your poetry - always straight from your heart.  Not sure if anyone remembers me, but I used to be (still am, just wondered away, but I'm back now) Carolina Girl, from Thrive site.  I'll be busy trying to catch up on everyone's posts.  *hugzz*

Oh yes! She has our prayers for a happy, wonderful life as well!  This is beautiful, so give that old Sailor a hug for all of us, and now scoot, and get on with those wedding plans!

I know this feeling well....but though the relatinship has to change, it will take a new turn and I'm sure you will find it even more fulfilling. Congratulations to the bride and groom!

Congratulations and best wishes to the bride and groom.  I agree with PdV, it will change for the better as she will be on a different level as well.
